Chaos and Order at Incinerator Art Space, Willoughby.

For the last 18 months I have been sharing a studio with two others, Anna Russell and Rhonda Nelson. This is our first exhibition together. I wonder where it might lead?

Rhonda has collaborated with Felicity Hall, ceramicist, for her ceramic work in the show.

We are having some ‘activities’ at the exhibition which might help engage people in the theme of the show, Chaos and Order.

Some new work

I’ve been exploring the way the materials behave and thought I’d share with you my latest results.

This is a wax Monotype on textured paper with ink. Here is a detail from the piece:

The second piece uses the same technique but with slightly different results.

And here is the detail:

FNQ

Here in FNQ for a residency with Inkmasters and the Tanks. I will pursue my own work, teach a workshop in monotype, do a demonstration in Encaustic for Printmakers and a short workshop for year 10’s at a local college.

Here in Cairns, nature is rampant! I get to go to the Botanical Gardens each day, and walk the boardwalk to the studio. Such a joy!

Greenwich Village Arts Trail

I’ve been away for 5 weeks in Europe, but back on deck now, if a little cabbage headed from jet lag…….

Id like to invite you to the Greenwich Village Arts Trail next weekend, the 10th and 11th of October. My studio, at 29B Innes Road, will be open from 10am till 4pm, just one of seventeen studios in Greenwich which will be open at the weekend. Please call in for a drink and a chat.Layout 1

Last week of my show, Lucent.

Lucent is open each day until next Monday 10am till 4 pm. I’m enjoying gallery sitting here at the Incinerator. it’s very interesting learning how people interact with the show. Except for a couple of dark and rainy days last week, there’s been a steady stream of visitors. I’ve particularly enjoyed that children come in alone, then drag their parents downstairs to see the show later.
